Prem League to sue YouTube

THE Premier League last night launched a massive lawsuit against video-sharing website YouTube.

The league — which represents all 20 Premiership football clubs — said clips of matches on the site broke copyright laws.

Their lawyers said YouTube’s owners, internet giants Google, “knowingly exploited” footage for its “own gain”.

They have asked a court in New York for an injunction to stop any more clips being broadcast before the case.

Google is already being sued by US media firm Viacom for £500million over YouTube videos.
