I've won £221k on the pool

A PUNTER scooped a whopping £221,596 on six football bets — when Blackpool got promotion.

Tony Morris, 46, had an agonising wait until Sunday when the League One side won a play-off final to reach the Championship.

He had made his £400 accumulator bet on six results five months ago on New Year’s Day.

And he would have lost the lot had 4-1 shot Blackpool not won.

Tony also correctly predicted Watford to finish bottom of the Premiership (4-7) with Chelsea’s Didier Drogba top goal scorer (11-8), Leeds to be relegated from the Championship (11-8), Conference side Morecambe to go up (4-1) and Walsall winning League Two (6-4).

The bus worker placed his bet at a Coral bookies in South Harrow, Middlesex. He said: “It was a marathon waiting for all the results. I’ll carry on betting on soccer.”

Coral spokesman David Stevens said: “It’s the biggest win we’ve paid this football season. It was all or nothing.”
