GANGLY soccer star PETER CROUCH is set to propose to girlfriend ABBEY CLANCY.

The England and Liverpool striker has been spotted eyeing up engagement rings.

And friends say 6ft 7in Peter is going to get down on one knee to pop the question.

But the long-limbed ace — famed for his awkward robotic dance celebrations — better make sure he’s in plenty of space or he could end up in a tangle.

Peter, 26, told close pals he is ready to propose to Abbey, 21 — star of Britain’s Next Top Model.
A source said: “He loves Abbey to bits. She keeps his feet on the ground.

“All the boys at Liverpool are jealous.

“He was looking for a ring as he recovered from injury while she was working in America.”

Peter, who returned from a broken nose to net a hat-trick for Liverpool against Arsenal on Saturday, had been seen browsing in Manchester.

He looked at rings in Boodle & Dunthorne — DAVID BECKHAM’s favourite jeweller in the city — and at posh boutique David M Robinson.

Crouchy, who earns £50,000 a week, has dated Abbey for 18 months.

She will get a £200,000 sparkler if he follows tradition and spends a month’s wages on it.

England pals JERMAINE DEFOE and WAYNE ROONEY have both spent six-figure sums on rings for their partners recently.
